FAQ
Independent Publishing
What is Independent Publishing?
Independent Publishing brings customers and authors together. Using their specialised knowledge and writing skills, our authors create high quality texts according to the specific requirements and SEO needs of the customer.
How does Independent Publishing ensure a constant high quality of texts?
Independent Publishing has a large pool of authors from all over the world. Our service covers six different languages and an almost limitless variety of subject areas. However, not just anyone can become an Independent Publishing author and every applicant who applies must first complete a sample text to demonstrate their writing skills. Our editors examine each text and only accept the ones that are both error-free and engaging. Texts submitted by already existing Independent Publishing authors are also subject to an automatic plagiarism check, a sophisticated author rating system and and spot tests carried out by our editing team to ensure every text is of the highest quality.
Can I order any text type at Independent Publishing?
Customers are free to order any type of text they so desire. For every order you make, you will be asked to provide your exact requirements, which our authors will refer to when writing the text. It is strongly recommended that you are as detailed and as precise as possible with these requirements, stating what your expectations are in terms of style, content and level of research. You will also be required to state the quality level of each text.
What do the various quality levels mean?
As a customer you may order content according to one of the three following levels:
- bronze (stylistically and grammatically correct texts)
- silver (stylistically and grammatically high class texts with high level of detail)
- gold (excellent texts on continuously high level with highest level of detail)
Which quality level is right for me?
Different texts will require different levels of quality. Consider how much research will be needed and what the length will be. For example, a detailed how-to guide about a complicated subject will require a lot of effort to craft, whereas a brief product description may not. After you have considered how much detail your content will need, you can then select the quality level.
What type of order should I choose?
You have the possibility to choose from two different types of order.
Open Order
Your orders will be made available to all the authors from the quality level you have selected. Those tasks will be also made visible for all authors from the higher levels. For example, a gold author can write your bronze-text and you still pay the bronze standard price per- word. This kind of deal is of great benefit for you as you pay the lowest price for the highest quality level text.Direct Order
You can make your orders available to only a specific author or group of authors. That gives the opportunity to choose already known authors, who are experts in specific categories. You decide how many authors and with what kind of areas of interests are able to see and accept your orders.
I am registered at Independent Publishing as an English customer. How can I order texts in different languages?
As an Independent Publishing customer you not only have the possibility to order texts in English, but also in French, German, Spanish, Polish and Portuguese. The processing is easy: when making the order, simply select your desired language. It does not matter what language you decide on, the price-per-word stays the same.
I am registered at Independent Publishing as an English customer. How can I order texts in language that I myself do not speak?
For large orders, Independent Publishing offers a full-service package in which we deal with the entire editing processing. Should you have question, please contact our customer service team who will be happy to provide you with further information www.independent-publishing.com/b2b/static/contact.
How can I be sure that the texts are unique in terms of content?
Independent Publishing attaches great importance to unique content. Our authors are obliged to write original texts for every customer. To ensure that all submitted texts are completely unique and free of any copyright infringement, each submission is subjected to an automatic plagiarism check provided by leading anti-plagiarism software Copyscape. This makes it impossible for our authors to duplicate texts and ensures customers only receive original content.
What do I have consider when creating an order?
A detailed job description is the key to a good text. The job description provided with each order should include as much relevant information as possible to help guide the author. It must contain details about the topic, desired content, length and level of quality. If you are ordering a SEO text, you must also define the keywords and the keyword density. You should also specify the processing time – if you order a longer text, the author should be provided with enough time to properly research and then craft the content.
Are there any deadlines for the order processing?
To make sure you receive the texts when you need them, you alone decide how long the processing time for the author should be. The author is given a minimum of one working day to write each text, however, this time can be increased to a maximum of five working days. Lack of compliance with the deadline will result in the withdrawal of the author from, as well as re-posting of, the task. All authors will then be eligible to take on the re-posted task. The client has one opportunity to request a revision of a text. For this revision the author has one working day to make the necessary corrections. Lack of compliance with the deadline will result in withdrawal of the author from the order. Once a text has been submitted, you, as the customer, have five days to accept, request or reject it. If this five day period elapses, the text will be considered accepted.
What happens if an author fails to meet a deadline?
If an author fails to meet a deadline for text processing, Independent Publishing automatically withdraws it from them. The order is then re-posted and all authors are then eligible to take on the order. The time you have set for order processing starts anew once a new author has accepted it.
Where can I accept articles?
If you are logged in at Independent Publishing, you can find an overview of the texts you can accept, or indeed reject, on your personal home page. Moreover, Independent Publishing sends you a daily status report about completed orders via email to the address you provide in your customer profile. This email will contain a link takes you directly to a completed order, which you can then accept, request a revision or reject.
How do I know that my orders have been completed?
The “Project Overview” section of your customer profile will provide you with the status information of all your orders. Moreover, Independent Publishing sends you a daily email with an overview of the status of your orders.
How much time do I have to accept a text?
Once an author has submitted a text, you have five working days to process it. This means you can either accept it or request a revision. Should the five days pass without any action on your side, the text is deemed accepted. If you have ordered the editing service, you have three days to process the article.
Can I delete a published order and will I bear any costs if I do so?
As long as the order has not been accepted by an author, you can delete it. Deleting a order is free of charge.
Can I change the specifications of an order if it has already been published?
If an author has not yet accepted the order, you can delete it and publish anew. If an author is already processing the order, you cannot change it any more.
What is the difference between a project and an order?
Separate orders are managed within project files. Global project settings reduce your workload as here you can define settings which will apply to all orders in that project (for example, the keyword density, job description or processing time).
How can I make sure that a text meets my requirements?
A precise job description is the key to a successful text. A conscientiously formulated job description ensures good results without tedious enquiries and unnecessary revisions.
How do I formulate a good job description?
Authors can only fulfil your requirement on the basis of a good job description. As such, it is important that your job description is as detailed and precise as possible. As you formulate the job description ask yourself:
- What is the purpose of the text? Informing, rating, description etc.?
- What is your target audience?
- What should the tone of the text be? Easy to follow, very serious, amusing?
- What should the structure of the text be like? Should it contain sub-headings or should it be divided into paragraphs?
- What should be mentioned in the content? Should an aspect be stressed or must something not be mentioned at all?
Ideally you will provide the author with an Internet address where he or she can find similar texts, however, this is not compulsory. Also keep in mind that the first part of an order an author sees is the title and not the job description. For this reason you should formulate the title as precisely and clearly as possible.

For the revision the editor has 24 hours. The editor's processing time is deducted from your processing time. Nevertheless, Independent Publishing guarantees a minimum processing time of three days.
